Flat Roofs That Actually Stay Dry
A flat roof should never be truly flat. It needs a fall built into it so water runs off to an outlet rather than sitting in a puddle, and that fall is the single thing most often got wrong.
We build the fall in properly, then cover it in a material chosen for the job - EPDM rubber for a long life with no seams to fail, fibreglass where a hard-wearing surface matters, or modern torch-on felt where it suits the budget and the roof.
Extensions, back additions, dormers, garages and porches. If yours has been patched more than once, we will be honest about whether another patch is worth your money.

Why choose us
What Makes A Flat Roof Last
The fall gets built in
Standing water is what kills a flat roof. We set the falls so water reaches the outlet, rather than laying a covering over an existing dip and hoping.
The right material for the roof
EPDM, fibreglass and felt each suit different jobs. We will explain the difference in plain terms and recommend one, not sell you the dearest.
Edges and outlets done properly
Most flat roofs fail at the trims, upstands and outlets rather than the middle. That detail is where we spend the time.
Flat Roofing Work We Carry Out
We install, replace and repair flat roofs on homes throughout Lewisham, including:
- EPDM rubber roofing - laid in a single sheet on most domestic roofs, so there are no seams to open up later.
- GRP fibreglass roofing - a seamless hard-wearing finish, good where the roof gets walked on or sits below a window.
- Torch-on felt - modern multi-layer systems, a world away from the felt that failed on your grandparents.
- Flat roof repairs - blisters, splits, failed seams and leaking outlets put right where the covering still has life in it.
- New falls and decking - replacing soft or rotten decking and rebuilding the fall so water drains properly.
- Trims, upstands and outlets - the details where flat roofs usually let water in.
Not sure whether yours needs repairing or replacing? We will come and look, take some photos and tell you honestly. There is no charge and no obligation.
Frequently asked questions
Flat Roofing Questions, Answered
A properly installed EPDM or fibreglass roof will typically run for decades rather than years. The big variables are whether the falls were built in correctly and whether the edges and outlets were detailed properly.
Neither is better across the board. EPDM goes down in one sheet with no seams and copes well with movement. Fibreglass gives a harder surface that takes foot traffic. We will tell you which suits your roof and why.
Either the fall was never right, or the decking beneath has sagged. Ponding water finds any weakness eventually, so it is worth correcting rather than living with.
If the covering is sound and the problem is local - a split, a blister, a failed seam - a repair is the sensible answer. If the deck is soft or the covering has gone brittle all over, patching just delays the inevitable.
Often not, on a single-storey extension. Where it is needed we arrange it, including the council licence if it has to stand on the road, and it is priced in the quote.
Most domestic flat roofs are a one or two day job once we start, weather permitting. We will give you a realistic date rather than an optimistic one.
